Most likely you are not going to eat your Fotoherzerl. And it really is too pretty to do so. Still, you should know that you can eat it.

In case you were wondering: while "Lebkuchen" is often translated into „gingerbread“ we find it to be somewhat different.

Lebkuchen dough is made of the most amazing things. Yes, it contains 10 spices (and we are not going to tell you our secret mixture). But we like to talk about the other ingredients that we put into your Lebkuchen Heart.

Our signature recipe – baked with lots of love!

So, what’s in it?

Dark Lebkuchen:

  • rye and wheat flour
  • sugar and caramelized sugar
  • baking soda
  • chicken egg yolk powder
  • cacao powder (highly deoiled)
  • sorbic acid
  • and numerous spices, of course

And plenty of sugar icing!
The picture is edible, as well. It is made of sugar.
